One dead, two injured in Rankin Co. head-on collision
A Folsom man was booked Thursday into the Harrison County, Miss., jail after he was accused of killing his infant son, leading authorities to review the death of another of his children. Gulfport authorities arrested Corey Nauck, 25, on a count of first-degree murder in the death of 7-month-old Carter Nauck.

The Rankin County Sheriff's department has a man in custody in connection with a triple shooting at a home on Ebenezer Road in Rankin County. The suspect is identified as 23-year-old Fareno Dacquian Harris who is a neighbor of the victims.

A body was found in the back yard of a home Monday night, police said. Jackson police officials said officers investigating a report of shots being fired found the body of Jonathan Kelly, 26, behind a home in the 2800 block of Revere Street.

Two unnamed male officers with the Jackson Police Department came into contact with two men at the 1300 block of Deer Park Street at about 3 p.m. Wednesday. A narcotics investigation resulted in an alleged shootout between officers and a man who's name has not yet been released. #JPD spokesman Sgt. Roderick Holmes said the two men immediately took off running from officers, inciting a foot chase where one of the men got away—officers have not identified or located him
Robert Donald Ehrhardt III, 37, was arrested at his home following an investigation of suspicious online activity, authorities said. He was booked into the Rankin County jail and is awaiting his initial appearance.

A Jackson woman pleaded guilty Tuesday in a murder-for-hire plot, federal prosecutors said. Velma White, 32, faces up to 10 years in prison when she is sentenced May 21. She could also be fined $250,000 for each of the four counts, authorities said.

A man was found dead at a home on Isabella Street by police while responding to a call, investigators said. Around 1:30 p.m. Sunday a man reported that his car had been stolen, police said. After Canton police arrived at the home where the car was reported stolen they found Tyler Ross, 20, on the floor with a fatal gunshot to the chest, investigators said.
A man who was shot while he was trying to rob a convenience store has died, police said. David Williams, 18, died Thursday morning, Jackson police officials said. Investigators believe Williams and a woman tried to rob the clerk Wednesday night at a convenience store on Rose Street. During the robbery, the clerk grabbed his gun and shot Williams, police said.
Velvet Shumaker, 45, is wanted for felony credit card and exploitation of a vulnerable adult, authorities said. Police said Shumaker fraudulently obtained funds from an elderly adult under her care.
Jackson police say a clerk shot an armed robber late Wednesday night at the DS Food Mart on Rose Street. A man and a woman walked into the store just before 7:30 p.m. according to police. They say one of them showed the clerk a handgun and demanded money from the register.
Authorities in Jefferson Davis County are conducting a murder investigation after a woman was found dead over the weekend. Coroner Jimmy Slater said Edna Brister was found dead behind her home on Highway 13 north of Prentiss on Sunday evening. The death is considered a murder, due to preliminary findings, according to Tim Culpepper of the Jefferson Davis County Sheriff's Dept.
