A Simpson County couple were killed Monday in a house fire. McComb police are searching for a stolen van that was parked at Catching's Funeral Home on Maryland Avenue around 10 a.m. Wednesday. The van is a white 2001 Chevrolet full size van, authorities said. Its MS tag number is PK487 and it has a Catching's Funeral Home tag on the front bumper, authorities said.

A firefighter was hurt while fighting a house fire in Jackson. The fire reignited Thursday morning on Richmond Circle. The homeowner said she had been cooking Wednesday around 6:30 p.m. and forgot she left something on the stove when grease caused a fire in the kitchen.
