Madison: A rollover crash on Interstate 55 left three people hospitalized on Sunday. Madison police said an SUV driven by Flavio Ivan Garcia, 26, swerved to avoid a collision with another car on the interstate and overcorrected and lost control of the vehicle. The SUV rolled over four times, landing upside down and trapping the driver and two passengers.

Jackson: A house fire Sunday morning claimed the life of William Burke Thompson, 59, Hinds County Coroner Sharon Grisham said. The blaze broke out at Thompson's home at the corner of Roxbury Road and Eastover Drive around 11 a.m., authorities said.
A Pearl man is accused of pointing a gun at another driver during a road rage incident, the Hinds County sheriff said. A driver told deputies that another driver slammed on brakes multiple times, nearly causing a collision Sunday on the Natchez Trace Parkway near Clinton, Sheriff Victor Mason said in a news release.
Jackson: Authorities say a man was visiting a woman at a local motel when he was shot in the stomach by another man. According to a release from Jackson Police Department, the incident occurred shortly after 7 p.m. Saturday at the Candlelight Inn on Ellis Avenue.
Jackson: A man was shot in the stomach Saturday evening at the Candlelight Inn, police said. The shooting occurred around 7 p.m. on the 1500 block of Ellis Avenue, investigators said. When officers arrived they found a 47-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the stomach.
The body of a man with multiple gunshot wounds was discovered by neighbors on South McRaven Road in Hinds County Saturday, investigators said.
