4 month agoThe Mississippi Highway Patrol said an 18-wheeler ran off the road and crashed into trees Monday morning. It happened around 1:00 a.m. on Interstate 20 eastbound near Norrell Road just before Clinton.

4 month agoHinds County deputies arrested two people Friday on I-20 and confiscated drugs. Ambra Pigeon and Maykol Diaz, both of Florida, were charged with trafficking a controlled substance.
One man is dead after a fatal house fire in Jackson early Saturday morning. Around 2 a.m. JFD arrived at the home at the intersection of Ludlow Ave. and Pillars Court. Fire officials said there was fire and smoke coming from the home.

Vicksburg: Two children, ages 1 and 2, were killed Thursday night in a fire, Vicksburg officials said. The Vicksburg Fire Department received a 911 call about 9:45 p.m. Thursday. When firefighters arrived to the 700 block of Johnson Street, a home was engulfed in flames.

Someone driving a red late-model Toyota Camry fired several shots at about 12:25 p.m. at the car, which was parked in the yard of a home on Welota Drive, near Boling Street, Cmdr. Tyree Jones said
4 month agoA driver escaped with only minor injuries Thursday when a train crashed into his pickup truck, Jackson police said. Officers were called about 7:15 a.m. to Highway 80 and West Street, where the crash was reported.

Police said the man was test firing a rifle outside his home near Hillcrest Christian on Siwell Road. Someone called 911 and officers arrested the man on charges of shooting inside the city limits, which is a misdemeanor

4 month agoMadison: A rollover crash on Interstate 55 left three people hospitalized on Sunday. Madison police said an SUV driven by Flavio Ivan Garcia, 26, swerved to avoid a collision with another car on the interstate and overcorrected and lost control of the vehicle. The SUV rolled over four times, landing upside down and trapping the driver and two passengers.
